Giving to mission
We give because all we have has been given by grace.
Giving financially certainly isn't the biggest deal in following Jesus...but it ranks right up there.
We give because we want all we've been given to be leveraged for God's Kingdom advancement, an investment that has guaranteed eternal returns.
We give because it demonstrates our liberation from the tyranny of things and the myth that our worth is measured by stuff rather by Jesus' love.
We give because to do so is a great and wonderful joy.
We give because Jesus is worthy, and worth it.
The gospel moves us to give generously, cheerfully, regularly, and sacrificially.
"But as you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you - see that you excel in this act of grace also. I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich."
~2 Corinthians 8:7-9
